Hudson Ranch 1 Project wins the U.S. Geothermal Energy Association's Honors Award for Environmental Stewardship

The Geothermal Energy Association announced the winners for the inaugural GEA Honors, designed to recognize the individuals and companies that have made significant contributions to the development of the geothermal industry. The Hudson Ranch 1 Project/ EnergySource LLC was awarded the Environmental Stewardship Award for fostering outstanding environmental stewardship through the use of geothermal systems. The Hudson Ranch 1 plant is designed to dramatically reduce CO2 emissions (projected to be less than 70 percent of the average geothermal plant) and to set a new standard in minimized water use. WDA Alliance wins Excellence in Capital and Major Project Award for 2011

Alliance Contracting IQ, Australia’s network for professionals involved in alliance partnerships and projects, announced the winners for its annual Alliance Contracting Excellence (ACE) Awards. It was announced that the Wyaralong Dam Alliance won the Alliance Contracting Excellence Awards (category A- Major Project Alliances) in Sydney. There were six shortlisted Alliances in this category. Participants include: Queensland Water Infrastructure, ASI Constructors, SMEC, Wagners Quarries, Entura, MacMahon and Rizzo Australia. The awards recognize excellence and best practice in Alliance contracting partnerships. Alliance Contracting IQ Director, Jacqueline Bran, said “winners demonstrated exception delivery of larger scale construction projects and effective commitment to extracting the best value for money in their developments.”

On April 14, 2010 at the USSD 30th Annual Meeting and Conference, in Sacramento, California, it was announced that the Taum Sauk Plant - Upper Reservoir Reconstruction Project was awarded the US Society of Dams (USSD) 2010 Excellence in the Constructed Project Award. This Award recognizes the significant contributions made to the dam community and to society through the construction, remediation or removal of a dam or water resources structure. Taum Sauk Plant Resumes Operation

AmerenUE announced Wednesday, April 21, 2010 that its Taum Sauk hydroelectric plant is generating electricity again for the first time since 2005. Ozark Constructors – a joint venture partnership formed by ASI Constructors Inc. of Pueblo West, CO, and Fred Weber Inc. of St. Louis, MO - rebuilt the upper reservoir under the guidance of the project’s engineer of record, Paul C. ASI awarded Pueblo SDS Dam Connection Project

On Friday April 16, 2010, it was announced that ASI Constructors Inc. of Pueblo West, CO has been chosen as the primary contractor for Colorado Springs Utilities’ North Outlet Works connection to Pueblo Dam as part of the Southern Delivery System pipeline. ASI Constructors, Inc. plans on using several regional sub-contractors for the SDS dam connection project including High Country Pipeline, of Fremont County; Springs Fabrication, of Colorado Springs; Transit Mix, of Pueblo; and Rocky Mountain Crane Service, of Colorado Springs.
